Who are “Real” Anti nationals?

In the representation made to Sri Krishna Committee ,SeemaAndhra Ministers mentioned in their report that people asking for “Telangana“ separate state are anti nationals. This statement void of any rational logic and it is apparently tells people of India that how arrogant Andhra leadership has become. Anybody who has different opinion with them in anti-national. In this present arcticle, I want to deconstruct Seemandhra society and how their society traits are responsible for present state of affairs in the state and also for arrogant comments like this.
 Death of Democratic institutions:
Ever since Telangana agitation started there is one interesting thing that has gone unnoticed- leaders from Rayalaseema started talking about Democracy. In their wildest dream also they never practiced democracy. Though I was born in Telangana, I did my entire education in Rayalaseema, except few years here and there. As kid growing up there in early 90’s it was very difficult to go to school in elections times, you never know from where bombs may hit you. Election Day like a bandth day. Nobody with right mind would go to pooling booth to exercise their vote. In villages’ situation was even worse. Total booth capturing. One political party MLA cannot enter opponent’s strong hold. I feel utterly ashamed to be ruled by these Royalseema Leaders who never practiced any kind of democratic principle are ruling the state in different capacities. These leaders respect for human values is known to all. Leave alone human values they never respected human lives also. Killing opponents for flimsy reason is their way of life. With utter shamelessness they support those killings.
The little we talk about these guys giving respect to dalit men and women, the better. Absence of naxalism there perhaps the reason for that.It is really sad to see that in the state level not a single person represents dalits or OBCS from Rayalaseema. There is no room for “ Manda Krishna Madiga or Kadiam srihari or P.Mahendranath” in that part of Andhra Pradesh. There was no question of violence free polls. I feel really ashamed to listen to these feudal leaders talking about “democracy”. When these leader emerged from such a back ground which is notorious for disrespecting minimum democratic principles and occupied the positions that are reserved for only for true statesmen what else will happen is everybody’s guess.
These guys have who tasted the literally the human blood by killing their opponents, started tasting the blood of capitalism. This resulted into building business conglomerates, media houses, and cement factories etc. When ruthless mind is backed by ugly affluence out of misuse of power has become last nail in the coffin for democracy in AP.When this happens there is no force on the earth can contain them? This very attitude of these gentlemen resulted in diverting the due water to Telangana in the form of Pothireddypadu. This even went to the extent that YSR Reddy was planning to put up Nuclear power plant in his constituency by diverting Krishna Rivers. The reason is that under the interest of notion he wanted loot the resources of Telangana, wanted to legalize his wrong motives. The list is endless how Rayalaseema leadership dismantled democratic setup in AP.
Economic Terrorism:
If there is any award for so many financial frauds in this country that certainly must go to Andhra Pradesh. You can take recent “Satyam Scam” to the tune of 14000 corers of rupees. Prior to this “Krushi Bank scam” and before that “Charminar Bank scam. Or for that matter GTB scam. Leave alone all the pretty scams that happen across Andhra Pradesh almost on weekly basis in terms of runaway “chit Funds”. If there is any common thread passing through all these scams is- the owner’s hip of these institutions big or small is predominantly from one region. It is common knowledge that this was done with tacit support of then political leadership at the state.
How State Finance Corporation (SFC) has become testing tool for so called Andhra entrepreneurship should a case study for any reputed B-school, as this clearly underlines the fact how any institution can be decimated for personal goals with the support of state. This economic terrorism with the support of state unleashed my dear Andhra friends has far reaching consequences to the shareholders of society. Same kind of unscrupulous money that has gone into encroaching land around Hyderabad and drive the poor peasants away from cities. There is school of thought that this economic terrorism has far reaching consequences of the people as it directly affects the lifeline of human being instead of the terrorism perpetrated on the lines of religion or anything.
In Undivided AP,Rayalseema leadxers  dismanted the democratic institutions for their own personal goals and Andhra leadership perpetrated economic terrorism on the state for their very own personal benefits. Going by any dictionary anti national is one who works against the constitutional framework. Our constitutional framework is based on democratic norms. Given the back drop I have given it can be easily inferred from those activities of dear Andhra and Rayalaseema leaders that these people deeds are against our constitutional framework. Under the cover of Telugu” my dear leader you looted and cheated Telangana. When the people of Telangana, for legitimate reasons, asking for separate state you are calling them anti-nationals. When you parted ways with Madras state weren’t you one my dear Andhra minster?. If I conclude that I am under the rule of anti nationals, is it a fair statement to make, going by your own admission to Sri Krishna Commission?
I want to conclude this article by asking simple question to you - ministers who is real Anti National?
P.S : Today is Indian Independence Day. If independence is all about celebrating our democracy, Telangana people may have to wait little longer.

What a Leader! What Kind of People.......

Going by the history of Telangana, people of this sacred land always fought with evil such as Nizam tyranny, feudal suppression on their own. No leader was spearheaded those moments. Leaders emerged out of common men and women with very common back grounds. Whenever they tried to rally behind one leader or party, they were let down. All this made people to put faith in one organization or individual is not good idea.Pehaps they tried “Diversifying risk” by believing too many parties and leaders. This too did not yield any results. It is common knowledge that “too much of diversification” won’t yield good results.
As they say history is necessary evil because it always bequeaths a mental baggage to generations. It seems sometime to me that "this mental baggage" outlived its utility. I guess time has come for the people of Telangana to change their age old strategy and direct them in an entirely new direction and rally behind one person or party whose commitment to our collective dream “Realizing the Dream of Telangana state” beyond doubt.
These by-elections thrown a great opportunity at our doorstep to prove to the world that our collective dream is “Telangana State” and also to put faith in the leadership. Here you have one leader who is doing everything at his command to inch near our dream- KCR. I mentioned in my earlier posts that he took all the responsibility on his bony shoulders. Don’t you think is it the time to strengthen his shoulders?
What he did?

He sided with UPA in 2004, they ditched him later. He could not go again with UPA in 2009. He had to join hands with NDA. This is the only option left for any other party in the India.In2009 he sided with TDP to make it mention “Telangana” in its manifesto. His pressure tactics made even “PRP” to commit to Telangana. He brought consensus among all political parties in AP.This was the reason behind 9th Dec 09 statement of Govt of India. He used every resource at his disposal to realize our dream.
BJP and TRS commitment to Telangana is total though other political party’s opinion is not crystallized yet. Going by the reports TRS win is certain in all the constituencies. My request to Nizambad voter is that you hold the key to Telangana future. Mr. D. Srinivas eyeing some minster ship is doing more damaging to the cause of Telangana than our enemies. To realize our dream BJP support is as much important as Congress. If we won’t elect BJP MLA,it reflects poor on our charterer. In future, If BJP changes its stand on Telangana citing this as the reason; it will have far reaching consequences. Perhaps due to Andhra lobby pressure. This really pushes away our goal from us. Beware !, whole world is watching this. Dear voters of these constituencies let us not jeopardize our future.
P.S :
To thinking some, it seems that “title” of the article in not in tune with content. You got it right. This is not. This is not the heading of present article. However this going to be the heading of my article post by elections if anything goes wrong. I sincerely hope that I never have to write under this heading. I borrowed this title from Andhra Jyothi editor - Srinivas - One of the best journalists Telangana gave to India, and twisted it to suit current topic.

Is Mr Rosiah PVNR in Making?

This was written when Mr Rosiah assumed AP CMs office on a different blog - Oct 25 2009

.....for a record i am mere reproducing

They say history always repeat itself. and they also say that unfortunately humankind never learns lessons from their mistakes or for that matter from successes of their predecessors. Perhaps this peculiar trait of the society makes it to move or crawl ahead or backward every now and then.
History also do have peculiar habit of  throwing very good opportunities at door steps of  most unprepared peoples . It happened twice  in the past two decades. Once it happened to PV Narasimha rao in the early nineties when he alomst prepared to get out of politics and retired to write books.
It happened again few months back when AICC asked Rosaiah to take the reigns of AP when he almost wanted to retire from the politics- that is precisely the reason he did not participate in recent assembly elections.Given the experience and opportunity he had to work with as many chief minister as AP congress had in past 30 odd years it may come handy for him to deliver his duties as chief minister.
As a finance minister he was always at the receiving end of the chief ministers for their thought less decisions. Given his political and social back ground he was always nice to other CMs though he knew very well their wrong spots. He covered them within the assembly and outside of it as a dutiful lieutenant.
Now that he occupied the center stage he must deliver the goods now. This is time to implement all his good ideas that he chanced upon and correct the wrong  doings his bosses have done in the past as his friend Mr  PV Narasimha rao did a decades ago.
If Rosaiah  does to AP what PVNR has done to  India, AP surely becomes a better place to live in.All the best CM !

Dear Fellow Telanganite

If I were to address my Telangana people who are despondent because of battle bruises as a result of tireless fighting for their society prosperity and of their own, here it goes.
Dear Fellow Telanganite,
Out History:
We have a great history of fighting for the righteous and just causes. We also have great history of not get weathered by the defeat. We fought back many a times. Is not we who fought along with Indian army to get our independence from Nizam tyranny? Are not we the people who challenged the history many a times with never dying fighting spirit? Fighting occupied larger share in our history. Our fight shall continue till we achieve our goal. The question before all of us today - How “this very fighting spirit” can be utilized in a positive way for the development of all sections of society.
Economy:
Is not it the Telangana society faulted to apply the same “fighting spirit” on its economic front? It is very common knowledge that business are built with only people who have “fighting spirit”. Why have we failed to do that though we have “fighting spirit” in abundance?  Is not this very same society has necessary wherewithal to fight back but it can’t take risks on economic front? This is very contrast to our own ethos. Unfortunately “Fighting Spirit” made us dearer to communism in place of Capitalism. An open society such as ours- which will embrace the people from across the country and their cultures and cuisine, should have embraced capitalism. Unfortunately Telangana intelligentsia and elders attracted to communism. This hampered our progress on economic front. In addition to this, AP administration filled with Telangana detractors further denied necessary economic wherewithal. Partly this fear is due to lack of necessary financial assistance from the state. This should change.  To thrive on economic front requires lot of soft infrastructure. We should have created more bankers. we should have created more industrialists. But that did not happen. This all can be reverted to normalcy only when we have proper educations system.
Education:
We always maintained that "Language" is an instrument to establish bonds and win over the hearts of our guests. Perhaps that is the reason we embraced Urdu, Marthi, Kannada, Gujarathi, Hindi and many more. Is not the pure "Telangani" that we speak is confluence of Kannada, Marathi, Hindi, Urdu? Unfortunately in this country some group of people think that "Language” is a means to loot people, exploit the resources and suppress the genuine democratic voice. Are not we entrapped by our detractors, by taking false pride in the language – Telugu? However, we do not hold anything against language, but we bitterly oppose the idea of language being used as instrument of suppression. Don’t you think that shunning this language "Telugu" - which is an instrument of suppression and embracing language, like "English”, would be in the interest of the generations to come in Telangana?
Kancha Illaiah, the Dalit intellectual that Telangana gave to India always maintained that English medium education is one of the best ways to emancipate Dalits. Don’t you think that our OU dalit student leaders had necessary language skills, should not be given back to National media’s campaign that naxals infiltrated in genuine people movement? Kancha illaiah view needs to be given highest attention, given the situation where jobs are being created only in the private sector and they will be continue to be created in the future too. Don’t you think high school educated Telangana youth do get more jobs if they have English medium education? Don’t you think we need to overhaul all our university education system? Can’t we have a Telangana – Palamur University for sciences – proximity to many pharmacy companies?  Warangal University for arts? Karim Nagar University for commerce. And XYZ for X? Is not the creating centers of excellence is bad idea?
Is not it the less movement of people across the regions in undivided AP, is the reason for “Trust Deficit” prevailing in the state? Can we afford to have same trust deficit in Telangana as well? No! So if we have people moving from one district to other in pursuit of their dreams will surely result in greater understanding of Telangana sub cultures. Having different centres of excellence across the state further strengths the society bringing down the socio economic disparities and also they help to understand local problems better. If we have Telangana intellectuals, journalists and bureaucrats speared across the country, in what shape Telangana movement should have been today?. There are few moneyed people in the Telangana. At least through soft infrastructure, we should have achieved our goal. Is not it the time to create more and more intellectuals from Telangana for furthering the Telangana interests? This all can be achieved if we have our university education overhauled.
This will be continued in the next post—economy, Cultural changes, Leader ship, Self Esteem …etc.Your comments and feedback will be highly appreciated.
On Personal note:
Today morning one of my Bihari friends called me to say that he was posted an Assist Superident of Police (ASP) in one of the Telangana Districts. In normal times a friend greets him with congrats or whatever nice courteous words .What I did was - I requested him not to beat up/suppress Telangana people who are fighting for just and righteous cause as his superiors are doing in AP.Perhaps this incident exposes the despondency of Telanganite in the Indian establishment. Only Time will tell If India is really a banana republic or it is a republic that follows its characteristics in letter and spirit.

KCR – An Inspiration for Younger Generation

Please find all my Telangana related blogs on www.simplytelaagana.com ,I am mere reproducing them here.
Individual or institutional anniversaries are good stopping points to reflect up on the contributions that they made to the society. Just concluded TRS 10th anniversary celebration is one such awe-inspiring moment to see how an individual personal traits help to build an institution weathering all kind of storms. This is really great fete -building a political institution in the times like these where political loyalty changes like London weather and individual selfish is atop that of the society.
He thrived amid all the difficulties. He is none other than our own man – K. Chandra Sekhar Rao. On this day I dwell upon the facts why KCR is an inspiration to younger generation in these times, society has very few persons to look up to. How his “never say die” attitude, exceptional oratory skills, political acumen, personal ethics, if followed in one’s personal life, are great tools for individual growth.
Rose Like a Sphinx record number of times.
He had enviable political career till he shunned the comfort of taking shade under the umbrella of TDP to float a political party to fight for the cause of Telangana separate state .Like any daring entrepreneur ridiculed by market, he too was subject to all kind of smack from his detractors and  well wishers. He emerged victorious in the very next elections and subsequently in many other elections. He had his share of defeats too. All these happened as he never diverted his attention away from the goal that he set his eyes on.  At times he was seemed by his detractors that he was away from his goal.
In the last elections his poor show at election boxes against the powerful rival YSR, made people to think that his and his party days are numbered. He was written off by his detractors.Nature’s fury at Mr. YSR Reddy  has given necessary shot in the arm of the absolute political strategist who mastered the nuances of polity of India, AP in particular. He is the man rose liked a sphinx from the ashes. Sphinx may rise once in moon time but he has beaten the record umpteen num of times ever since he took the onus of Telangana Separate State formation on his bony shoulders.
Not only his political success and failure became subject of criticism but also his personal life. He was ridiculed for his body anatomy. His language became drawing room discussion topic. He became any cartoonist muse to poke fun at. This bony man never succumbed to criticism; instead he stood tall against all that. He answered all of them with his sheer determination. Political success and failures and smack of the society have not taken any attention from his goal.
What is the take away for younger generation here?
Do your dharma and leave the result to Him.

KCR – A true democrat and visionary in Feudal society.

The fact that any thinking citizen admires most of KCR is he is only the democrat left in this state though he born into a feudal family. Going by his style of functioning people may opine that he is an autocrat. I would like differ with all my learned friends. Why? If there is any leader who used Media fruitfully in contemporary India is should be him. He many times given thought provoking ideas to media to bring in healthy debate among the society; be it the question of “Telugu Talli”, “610 GO”, acceptance of Telangana culture.
AP Media predominantly staffed with people who never went beyond their home turfs, having no idea of what an healthy debate is about, having wedded to philosophy of “Hate Telangana” – “Cheat Telangana” , never picked up the issues thrown up by Mr. KCR to have healthy debate. Instead they always termed his handout to stimulate debate among society, as utterances. I feel he is true journalist’s delight.KCR exposed dubious journalism practiced in AP. I feel if he was at National level, he should have easily be National intelligentsia’s muse. My only wish is that KCR words can never be termed as utterances, always there was deeper meaning to his words. Any society which built on strong democratic foundation would have taken KCRs thought provoking ideas to ultimate fruition- healthy debate in the society. Given the shaky foundation on which Andhra Pradesh society was built, always disdain him by calling his wise words with as many names.
His capabilities did not end with stimulating debates and political strategies. He is good at formulating the policies as well. Backroom boy of Mr. Naidu he formulized many policies. “Training classes to party men”,” Janma bhoomi” and many innovative schemes germinated from the brain of this bony man.  It is he who envisioned the “mono rail”, outer ring road for Hyderabad when good road was a luxury to people of Andhra Pradesh.
Youngster can learn the following: agree to disagree.

KCR – Incorruptible man

When Telangana movement at its peak, Andhra business man siphoned corers of rupees into media advertising and to mange few political brokers in Delhi. AP society bereft of  morals always accused KCR of taking bribe of Gail Janardhanan reddy to go on hunger strike, he took money go silent after meeting Mr. Chidambaram. To loathe KCR statute among the people who are seeing him as last hope. If he was low on morals, he should have been bought over by Andhra lobby long ago. My question to all those who accuse him of financial fraud- why these gentlemen directly did not approach him with gunny bags, instead of putting them in the purses of News channels and political brokers at Delhi?.
What is in for youngster?  Do not succumb to the lures of anything when your eye on goal.

KCR – The Complete Man

I always admired the KCRs tenacity to bounce back from lows he was pushed into by the circumstances he has chosen to live in. I wondered where does this lanky draw his strength from. I certainly feel that it is from his family and “DHARMA” he believes in. When he venture out on any mission for creation of telangana, news papers print the pictures of he bowing down before his sisters or mother or other elderly. This perhaps answers my question.
In a state where a person with family abetting murders can called as " Maha Neta” and in a state where crooked politician promoting crony capitalism can be called as “Visionary“, I reckon that every rational mind in state agrees with me to the fact that KCR stands well above these gentlemen.
Are not these qualities amount to call one man as “Complete Man”?
Inspiration
For all those youth who can view things rationally, here is an inspiration for you. Believe me he is inspiration ..only for all those youth who have open mind.

After thought: As an insider of the AP society I am fully aware of the fact that the topic this column would invite at least as much criticism as KCRs media briefings do. However that can’t hold me back from saying the obvious.

Jallianwala Bagh of Modern India – Osmania University

Feb 14 th being celebrated across the world as Valentine’s day. However this day 14th Feb 2010 has gone into in Telangana history as black day. In response to certain Telangana politicians betrayal to its own people, Osmania students procession became to tool for police brutality. Osmania students who are fighting for just and righteous cause, sacrificing their future for the fellow brethren had to face worst police brutality in the history of AP .It was very shameful act of AP Police (is there any AP police or it is just Andhra police?) as observed by honorable high court of AP.This marathon brutality continued for around 6 hours leaving many fellow Telanganites worried and helpless. Many citizens also questioned themselves that are we in civilized country? Are we in police state that is answerable to none?
Police brutality:
As I was watching it on the TV well away from the sanctum sanctorum of Telangana - Osmania Arts College, I felt like my fellow Telanganites, incapacitated to do anything to save my compatriots from police brutality. Students were running helter-skelter to avoid the rubber bullets and teargas effect. Police were not leaving them, if their intension were right to just control the law and order they should have left the scene there and then. The police force headed by Andhra walas have different scheme of things in mind. So that is the reason they corned all the students into one hostel .Police went inside hostel and used force after blinding them with teargas. They not even left the students who are studying in the hostel rooms. They did not leave even girls.Policie brutality gone beyond the students-they attacked the media which is beacon of hope in the absence of civility from the police.
As pointed out by Honorable high court ,AP police headed by “General Dyers” thought that herding the media out not to cover the incident would give them free hand to implement the ANDHRA police brutality devised in consultation with Andhra capitalist forces. I have seen on TV helpless students begging the Media persons to come little bit inside and cover the police brutality with the hope that outside world force may bring down the police whipping on them. Helpless students tried everything they could do stop it, finally give a warning to the police that if police won’t go back there would be mass suicides.
Outside the campus, helpless and anguished Telangana people started praying to the God almighty that please save the students from police brutality as they are fighting for justice and DHARMA. Prayers were answered at around 12 in the midnight. By then damage was done. Next day General dyer – Ramanjaneyulu with a feeling of accomplishment, for the satisfaction of his fellow Andhra vultures came out and addressed media shamelessly accusing the students for the incident.
Even in the British time ,as Honorurable high court pointed out, That General dyer was pulled up, however Indian general dyer- Mr .Ramajaneyulu was shamelessly backed by Andhra Government. The only difference to the Jallianwala bagh of India to Jallianwala bagh of south India is there were no deaths here. There is bigger death happened – death of democracy. If this police brutality is not questioned this time by all democratic forces in this country then this Andhra vultures have all plans in force to repeat Jallianwala bagh in Osmania University ywt again and again .

Isn’t “Telugu Talli” a fictitious work?

It is well accepted fact that people in creative world do take artistic liberty to come up with obnoxious attributes to eulogize the subject of interest. Some gentlemen equate subject with god, other with mother, some other with women and other with nature. This they do just to satisfy their artistic ego unmindful of the consequences of it; down the line.  Telangana people understand this creative liberty better than anybody as a society we encourage it whole heartedly. This typical characteristic of Telangana society kept the “Folk Songs” alive in this part of India. It is also inherent part of Telangana society to “question the unquestionable”; if it thinks that certain thought process is not on sound footing. This is basic tenet of any genuine democratic society.
Here I am taking about Sankarambadi Sundaraachari artistic liberty in the form of “Maa Telugu Talli Ki….” had done much harm to Telangana society unintentionally. Telangana society that values the artist freedom of expression; has utmost respect for the gentlemen perse. However same society rejects the interpretation of his work by my dear Andhra friends to propagate their narrow minded ideology of expansionism (May I say clandestine expansionism) as Pundit Nehru observed well before my dear Andhra friends migrated to KukatPally or Vanstali Puram. You can refer my earlier post as how Telugu became a bane for Telangana society. Mr. Achari might not have ever thought in his wildest dreams that his work would be used by his fellow compatriots to disdain Telangana people. I am extremely sorry as I do not want to give how it harmed Telangana. There is enough literature and videos available in the public domain what Telangana society lost in the past 50 odd years. Even this site- SimplyTelangana.com itself is a repository of very good information.
I am wee bit fortunate to crisscross the great country called India for my studies and on job. This has given me a unique opportunity to peep into many other cultures. What I found is – We call “Mother India- Bharata Mata NO Hindi Mata”, In Karnataka they call it “Karnataka –Mata NO kannda Mata”. Even in the place notorious for its linguistic chauvinism- Tamil Nadu, worship the land as mother not language. Even in Europe where the linguistic chauvinism first started –never mentioned language as their mother. As I asked umpteen number of times in my writings and in personal interaction with learned Andhra friends, calling language as mother is it simply rhetoric?  Or it is just an undercover to exploit the natural resources of Telangana?
Telangana society true to its character has questioned the rationale behind forcing them to accept “Telugu Talli” as any true democratic society does. Healthy debate was thwarted. As we all know how much respect my dear Andhra friends do have for democracy – seen on 10th dec09.Any society built on values welcomes the democratic debate. Instead of participating in healthy debate, my dear Andhra friends started saying Telangana people are disrespecting Telugu Talli? Telangana society realized the dubious intentions of Andhra friends. To counter the cultural invasion from Andhra, Telangana people have created “Telangana Talli”. Andhra friend may question if Telangana Talli is not a fictitious entity? Well, we all accept the fact that Telangana Talli is as fictitious as Telugu Talli. However Telangana Talli emerged out of the Telangana culture which is in tune with Indian culture for that matter world culture as I said earlier. Thus sanctity behind Telangana Talli is unquestionable. Here I want to know from my dear Andhra friend what are the reasons behind forcing so called “Telugu Talli” on us.

Dear Andhra friend
Based on what theory you called language as mother and created a fictitious mother and demanding us to respect it?
Where does your theory come from? Don’t you think it came out like a sparrow from P.C.Sarkar hat?
Which lineage does your theory share?
Don’t you think saying language is mother is an undercover?
Don’t you think saying language is mother is more to do with rhetoric than rationality?
Don’t you think saying language is mother and expecting others to fallow is not arrogance came out of illegal amassment of wealth?
My Dear vocal supporters of Telugu Talli, do you share the lineage of “Anti Navi” of AVATHAR fame?
Note: “Navi” fought against the exploitation of “Nature”. Andhra friends are trying to exploit the “Nature” of Telangana like opposite to “Navi”

P.S : Earlier post “What Telugu Means to Telanganite” questioned rationale behind the language based unification of the society. In response to that I was questioned why Telugu stands for “Looting” “Betryal”,”Violation agreements”. I did not elaborate the reasons for it. My fellow Telangana compatriots and also this website “SImplyTelangana.com” have explained umpteen numbers of times that Telangana case stands tall. Every reason that stands for Telangana also stands for my statement on Telugu. This is the precisely the reason why I did not dwell upon that much.
As usual friends, now the forum is thrown open to debate.

What Telugu (language) means to a Telanganite (me)?

Ever since Chidambaram’s announcement came out on 9th Dec 09 to initiate the process to create Telangana state, my dearest Andhra friends started saying that all Telugu should remain in one state. Perhaps that is the only time they are woken up to realize that there are Telugu speaking people in Telangana. Thank you Mr. Chiddu for waking my fellow Telugu. They in fact are running so-called united – Telugu movement ( or should I call it as moment as in fact it did last for just more than a moment). Since then, following questions have been puzzling me for quite some time.

What “Telugu” means to me?
Is language an ideology?
Is it a sin to share a language with others?
Is the language is unifying factor or dividing factor?
My quest for answers for all these queries with my learned friends and in literature available in the public domain, did not meet with much success. I commanded all my mental faculties to search for answers; I did find answers to most of them in solitude.

What “Telugu” means to me?
Telugu for me is “Suppression”
Telugu for me is “Looting”
Telugu for me is “Cheating”
Telugu for me is “Cultural invasion”.
Note: It is a myth that languages will have cultures. I feel places/regions will have culture.
Telugu for me is “Violation of agreements”
Telugu for me is “Mask”
Is language an ideology?
It is common knowledge that ideology keeps the flock together. Take capitalism, it unites some to become one group and communism brings other to form different group. From the days of nomads it is the common ideology that have brought people together. People of Telangana have been advocating that development, rightful use of resources, self rule, and fight against cultural invasion should decide the direction of the society. To sum up Telangana ideology is “Fight for rightful share and respect”. But my dear Andhra friend is conveniently ignoring all that and is saying “we speak one language” so we should remain in one state, so is Andhra wala effectively saying that “Language is an ideology”. Is it a buyable argument? Is it a rational argument?
Is it a sin to share a language with others?
Going by my Andhra friend’s argument that all Telugu should live in one state, I was made to feel incalculable times in recent times that is it a sin to have shared language with them? Had language not been shared, Telangana people would have been better off ? Sharing language with these Andhra people denied us rightful share in resources and also denied us right to live with respect. If this is the case, should we feel proud of the so called Italian of the east  -Telugu?
Is language an unifying factor or a dividing factor?
To say frankly, it is none. It should not be one either. It is just an instrument to understand others view point. Uniting based on that and dividing based on that does not make any sense to any rational mind. Then why my dear Andhrawala is so much concerned about all Telugu to be in one state? Don’t you think there is other rational (or irrationalJ) reason behind this canting-United AP, United AP?
Dear Telangana compatriot, I am all for agreeing to disagree. Please post your answers to above queries.

Is Telangana baton passed on to muslim brothers?

For anybody who is observing the latest development pertaining to Telangana such as constitution of Committee headed by Justice Krishna and KCRs extending hand to Hyderabad Muslim by conducting many meetings finds that these two events are linked. If you observe clearly the composition of the committee in particular inclusion of Muslim scholar- Abu Saleh Shariff and Telangana Leadership meeting with the Hyderabad Muslims brothers needs to be seen through different prisim.Infact both are very much one consequent to other. Telangana leadership was fairly informed about the committee members well ahead. From my understanding of the situation is that, after learning this, Telangana leadership conducted some meetings with Hyderabad Muslims brothers. Even it was rumored that Prof Jaya sankar and KCR had tried hard to convince MIM to join JAC, MIM apparently discouraged their overtures.
Potential barrier?
Historical systemic negligence to Telangana by the Andhra community and the facts and figures relating to the economic and employment deprivation always do favor Telangana. Let there be any judge or any committee by anybody certainly will take decision in favor of the Telangana as Telangana people movement is based sound and undisputable facts and figures. It seems UPA govt is of late trying to see Telangana issue through communal angle. They have every right to do that. However, my only contention is, who would represent my Muslim brothers?. With whom this committee would talk to?. If it talks to Muslim Intelligentsia in Telangana then no issue but, if it talks only to MIM, then it is a potential barrier as MIM links with YSR family as it is known to everybody. Till date, MIM did not come up with any stand. I feel that MIM should see beyond Hyderabad and see how Hindu and Muslim brothers cohabitate in districts and villages. The kind of seamless integration happened outside Hyderabad cannot be ignored. My only worry is that these Hyderbad public school and London educated Asad bhai and Akbar Bhai would ever really know how hindu-mulsim live in districts and villages.  I am here giving how Hindu and Muslim integration happened in Telangana. I wish it reaches Akbar and Asad bhai.
Seamless Integration of Hindu and Muslim communities
I wonder if Hindu-Muslim integration happened  so well any other place in India  as it happened in Telangana but I can categorically say that In Telangana it happened well before India became Independent. This fact was observed by MK Gandhi when he visited Hyderabad. In fact he said that this should become example for India.
Outside Telangana Hindus and Muslims may not be monolithic entity, Within Telangana they have always been a monolithic entity. With my own experience whenever I visit village I visit TEMPLE in the morning and DARGA in the evening. My mother prefers”KHAVALI” to any other. I do not have exact statistics but I feel that there are more DARGHAs in Telangana than anywhere in the country. I think Telangana is only the place where “Moharam” is celebrated by all communities across all places including the small remote villages. This tradition is kept alive by the weaker sections of Telangana. Kudos to them.
Not only the Integration happened within the societies and cultures this in fact went beyond that even the Telagana telugu imbibes roughly 30 to 40 % of Urdu in it. All in all I can only say that Telangana is classic example as how two communities can learn from each other and grow together.
I earnestly hope that my dear Muslim scholar on the board would acknowledges the Hindu-Muslim amity that woven into Telangana social fabric

Telangana Movement : Students Role

It is a widely accepted notion that students are no longer interested in nation building and that they lost interest in participating in democratic and just movements. In Andhra Pradesh , to be precise in Telangana something happened in contrast to widely accepted notion.
It was said that Students lost interest in the Telangan movement as they are concentrating on their careers.   One political anaylist,C. Narasinha Rao, was opining in one of TV interview that there is no room for people movements in democracy.I really like to see him where he is hiding face. This is what happens when psychologist turns political anaylist. The very same people not noticed the fact that dormant feeling for separate state of Telangana exists in everybody only that they are waiting for right time.As it is known fact that you can take “Telangani out of Telangana but not Telangana out of Telangani”. It is evident form the many incidents that have happened over a period of past 50 years in India history.
In the contemporary Indian history I can recall two incidents where students were spearheading the people movements. First it was 5 years ago when UPA govt announced that there would be reservations in the post graduation of medical and engineering education. It is understandable that students were directly involving in the movement against reservation as it affects them directly. Primarily students from upper strata of the society have participated In that struggle.
Second is in recent past where students groups under the umbrella of JAC( Joint action Committee) spear headed the Telangana movement. Though it was for a very short time. The kind of maturity they have chosen it commendable. People from all strta of society participated in the movement keeping all the socio, politico differences aside. It is applaudable how they foxed the govt ,particularly when first they announced “Chalo Assembly” programme ,soon seeing police deployment they changed the same agitation name to “Peace Rally”. Telanganis have always been sided with oppressed to fight against the injustice,be it Telangana armed struggle against” Rajakars’ of Kashim rajvi or fighting against some oppressing social groups.
However as always Telangana people inlcuding the students could not manage to put across their point on national political and social scenario quite effectively as they do quite effectively at the state level. They should have used this oppurtunity to put Andhra peoples duplicity before the nation. It is refreshing to see how Mr KT Rao and Madhu Yaski defending the Telangana case before the nation. They turned out be great spoke persons of this region.
Here i am giving the speeches made by one kishore in chaste telangani. poor telangana wala can’t put across their view point through costly ads as andhra wala are doing in local media. Here they attempted to use you tube to put across ther point through MUSI Tv. Quite innovative

Jagan : You'll surely consider no maam?
Sonia : Cmon go ahead......
After 30 minutes Jagan returns.

Jagan : I need my uncle KVP beside me.
Sonia : WHy jagan? Mr KVP are you there outside?
KVP : Yes Soniaji.
Sonia : Check it Jagan seems to be in need of your help.
Jagan : KVP uncle...KVP uncle... Sonia is fully aware of all our shady deals...it is better we leave this place.

My Best Wishes To Andhra Jyothy News Channel

Dear Srinivas and AJ Family,

Ever since I heard about your news paper - Andhra Jyothy is planning to float a news channel I thought of writing this mail to you. At the back of my mind, I was worrying about the reception this mail gets from you and your editorial board it but certainly tried hard to hold me back, though not longer.
I wish I should have written in chaste Telugu on neat paper to impress upon Telugu news paper editor. But I have chosen English to write this mail in. Pardon me for that. Reason being as kid growing up in small remote village in Mahabub Nagar District- speaking or using few English words in conversion or for that matter in answer sheets in exam was something considered as an achievement. That was 90's mindset. 2000's are really different so as my yardstick to measure achievement.

Changing Societal Trends - Media role

This change not only happened in my life but also in society. So many changes happened in society, in news reportage, in societal values and traditions and in economic status of individuals including poor. I have serious doubt whether these changes captured by media, really well? This is debatable. It is apparent from kind of reportage that we are seeing in local print media and local news channel that Media is not catching up with societal changes in the truest sense. And also, you agree with me, true journalist responsibility is to Mirror the views of people/society to that powers that control them and also mirror the society own wrong doings to itself.
And also I believe that Journalist responsibility also that of a watchdog -keep an eye on society movements (wrong direction that if it is taking) and suggest it the course correction that is required to put it back on track. I think that you agree with me on this too. I do not want to remind any journalistic responsibility to a Doctorate in journalism -you and whose news paper editorial policy is wedded to truly journalistic values and traditions. I thank you very much for up keeping the journalistic values even in toughest times.

Emergence of New Tribe - "I Too Love Democracy@ my convenience"

Recent happenings -after math of YSR death prompted me to write this mail. I am as disturbed in this state as any right thinking citizen of the state should be. I am referring to" Jagan To Be Made CM" demand. In this episode one thing crystal clear is that Media (yours is an exception) and individuals are keeping the individual interest much ahead that of the state. Room of criticism to this demand is shrinking day by day. It appears that deliberate attempt has been made to silence the right thinking citizen's voice. This is not good for the democracy. This is classical example how feudal leaders can be dangerous to the democratic fabric of the country.
I was appalled by these feudal leaders' plans to even thwart the National Media. I heard they plan to go to court against "Mail Today" of India today group with the fear that their reportage in Delhi news paper may thwart their efforts to make somebody- CM. Being far away from New Delhi it seems Andhra Pradesh is less exposed and eventually become less tolerant society. Lallu Yadav or Mayawati have done a fraction of corruption that leaders of AP did that should have become national news and made them to mend their ways. Unfortunately AP news does not gather more eyeballs at national level so these gentlemen are escaping. These individuals do have a feeling that they even silence National media as they tried all the tricks in the hat to silence you and failed.
Reason behind these things is lack of understanding the democratic values. I was really surprised by the fact that these VERY individuals are saying the congress Hi-command is not respecting the "People SENTIMENT". As Pandit Nehru observed democracy is not only that majority opinion inclined to but it is majority of opinion judiciously mixed with wisdom of the leader, society observers and interest of the state. It seems that, sir, these "New Breed of Democracy Lovers" under the head of business men are using and abusing the democracy to promote their vested interests. It is common knowledge that business men are quite adept at this art. These SAME individuals suppressed the long standing democratic right of Telanganis for their state. I earnestly feel that power and money at the few individuals' beck and call will certainly pose much danger to the society. Any right thinking citizen or journalist should not allow this to happen.
You and your editorial board (Adithya and all) seems to have observed this wrong trend and tried level best to expose these dubious intentions but you seem to have not achieved its objective as you are primarily in print media. As you made an attempt to give a voice to your noble thoughts with new "News Channel". I sincerely hope that you surely find success in this venture.

All The Best Once Again

Mahesh Thipparthi

Whats is the Best Development Approach For India

This is infact a diffrent kind of post. I rather call at as response post .
I have written this post in response to following post :
I can't match him in explaing complex things in such lucid language but i made an attempt to do that.

What kind of development approach is needed for our country? I always hear that some gentle men say that decentralization of power could solve our rural problems. Some other say “centralization” of power is the need of the hour as Indian are yet to come out of “Colonial Hangover”. Some reason that local people can better plan their future rather than somebody sitting in “AC Office”. (I really do not know where this “AC Office” syndrome comes from- probably this might have been coined by our left friends- these leftist have spoiled the Indians by planting anti-capitalist seeds in their minds by hi-jacking the ICSE,NCERT,ICHR). I am of the view that this country really needs not top-down approach or bottom-up for sustainable development. It really needs “Spatial Model” – participative development model. This model succeeds only when we have Bottom-up or top-down model along with functioning democracy.

How top-down model failed in this country?

India started with “Top-Down approach” for development with its five-year plan. Then political leadership thought that given the illteracy and lack of leadership at the gross-root level, this country needed “Centralized planning”. It was not successful as it was set out to be. Reason is very simple. In our country there is trust deficit between one constitutional body and other, center and state, state and municipality, municipalty and panchayat. In fact this gap is really widening day by day. I’ll tell you 2 incidents to buttress my point.

1.          If there is famine or national calamity, news channels and print media send battery of reporters to cover that. They cover it and sensitize that political leadership- state and central. After a week or so prime minister makes whirlwind tour of the region and announces that “CENTRAL team” would be visiting in a week or so to assess the loss to the state. By the time central team comes our state secretaries prepare nice report saying that “2000 Crs of loss”. Central team visits and announces only 200 cores. Based on state govt plotioctial affiliation will accuse / praise the government for its generosity/stupidity. – this is first incident of TRUST Deficit

2.        Ever since Rajeev Gandhi came up (one more bottom up guy) with law for devolution of power to local bodies, panchayat are demanding “Check Power” for them. State govt are not willing to give that power to them. Reason is obvious - TRUST Deficit.

What is trust deficit?- fear of misusing the power . This very trust deficit made this approach of development no longer tenable for India’s growth.

Why bottom-up will fail or failing?

I talk about my village here – Gram panchayat gets funds from state and central governments through many schemes. They are SUPPOSED to held gramsabha and plan what is needed for their village. like our assembly and parliament these “Gram Sabha” are mere farce( of course parliament is much better- even though they do not discuss about country’s problems- thank god at least they convene once in quarter). If any indivual raises a voice that guys will be beaten black and blue. After liberalization and availability of Information through Televisions, villagers aspirations are sky rocketing and at the same time options are limited to grow. This is putting pressure on them to look for easy means of making money.
Not only does that Viallage leader neither have the expertise to solve their problem nor the will to do the same. They started approaching the village issues with “What is in it for me?” approach. This approach is rendering any model useless, in particular bottom-up. However I read some stories about some village’s panchayat doing splendid job. These account for minuscule number. Can you afford to have centralized plan or decentralized plan for a success rate of 0.1%? This is the “Gross root democracy” in this country. We Indian have to really thank god that “our assemblies and parliament” do not work in the same fashion.

What’s the road ahead- what approach suits India better?

Spatial –Model – Any development model + functioning democracy.

Though English speaking –not InEnglish educated one I have to be proude of “OUR largest Functioning democracy” to not to invite the wrath of fellow beings, given the in India’s neigherberhood we got be happy about our democracy. Though we are far away from “Longest democracy”- Unites states of America. Defunct Democracy and corruption are only things survived in this country for the past 60 years. I am sure that they’ll survive for 60 more years too reason being they are inseparable.
I understand that there is nothing “flawless” in this world including our democracy. I also understand the fact that to have such democracy in the lines of longest democracy -USA in India is also utopian dream. To have sustainable development to meet the ever increasing demands of the people need of the hour is to have functioning democracy in this country. This alone would set the stage to solve all the problems of India irrespective of the development Model we approach

If I Have To………

As you know my brother has fathered a girl child a month ago, since then I have been waiting to pen down few words about her, her arrival into the family and what it means to many of us. It took a poetic turn instead of routine prose. Here is my little poetry for the first time on my blog.

Here it is for you Ladies and gentlemen.

If I Have To………
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
If I have to describe in one word
She is "angelic"
If I have to do the same in two
She is "just superb"
If I have to say it in three
She is “lovable by all"
If I have to put it in four
She is "the most much awaited" angel
If I have to borrow my mother words
She is "THE thing happened to her" and “Worth Gold”
If I have to repeat my brother words
She is "Goddess Lakshmi just arrived"
If I have to echo the feelings of my dear workers at home - Fatima and Kalavathi
She is "first generation Chinna Patelemma waiting to be kissed and pampered”

Recents Books I Have Read

As you know I love "Thomas Friedman" books. I happened to read one of his greatest books "Lexus and Olive Tree". This was his first book on globalization (before "World is flat"-you can refer one of earlier posts to see my review). This is one of the best books I have ever read. Though "world is flat" is much more popular. I rate “Lexus and olive tree” right on the top of his 3books I have read. After reading this I found (WIF) that to be "abridged version" of this.

This is 490 pages book. It really tests your patience. But at the same time it engages you all the way with Thomas Friedman small little stories with his characteristic style of beautiful explantion. He put across his points nicelyl in the minds of readers with these stories.

I also attempted to read his latest books “Hot Flat and Crowded”. I really did not like this book much reason being this book is primarily aimed at the American audience, in particular American policy makers. I strongly believe that America is great country but at same time I hate to hear/read in every other sentence that “American is great country”. I strongly feel that he should have avoided that. It really does not engage non-American readers. Good thing about Thomas Friedman is that he accepted that he had written that book for American audience in his latest interview with Barkha Dutt on “Imaging India in Hot Flat Crowded”. This is one of the best programs on NDTV in the recent past.

But for all my friends who are thinking that "What is in It" for me in this blog, continue reading the blog.one key take away from this book(HFAC) as I understand is that you have excess money do invest in companies that are in Green technologies. In Indian context few thing that come to mind are

“Praj Industries”,
“Punj Lloyd” ,
“Suzlon”.

In US you can try “Suntech “ and other some semiconductor companies that have invested heavily on “Photo Volatic Cell” area like “Cypress semicponductor”.

I recommond all to read "Post American World" By Fareed Zakaria. You can expect a post from me on this after some time. keep waiting ..........

My New Indulgence - Trekking

Of late I got into new indulgence-Trekking I am careful with my words-indulgence not hobby. No intensions to make it a hobby given the risk and pain involved in that. Trekking as a concept is nothing new to me as you know I am from beautiful village-Rangapur at the foothills for “Nallamala forest Range". Well before I attended my primary school I know this but what i do not know is that there is beautiful word for that in English.

My co-villagers used to do this trekking to make ends meet. Even my mother used to go for this to get leaves from forest to make leaf- plates to sell at the market 100 units@ 5 Rs.The entire woman folk used to do this in the villages to be financially independent and also to supplement the family income. This was part time job of my villagers at that time. Guys from Hyderabad used to come to our villages to buy these leaf-plates. Whenever they come to our village, for children it was a festival time. You know which child does not like financially independent Mom. If mom is healthy and wealthy, children would me much happy. That was when we used to get a chance to spend 1Rs. In my case it was always for “Mysore Pak”.

We city bred (sans me :)) thinks that all our politicians are bad people and they won’t make good policies. I think this helps you to understand why our policy makers would prepare the policies around women. I’ll talk about my beautiful village some time later. I‘ll reserve all the good and bad of villages to some other post.
Let s switch to present

Recessionary pressures have taken a toll on everybody who are directly or indirectly exposed them to liberalization and enjoyed the fruits of the same for a long time. So I am no exception to it. To understand my views on globalization please refer my earlier posts. To get away from this I was desperately looking for an escape.

One of my great friends called me to say that he was going for trekking. I immediately asked him if I can join him and he said Ok after due confirmation with organizers. Everything went as scheduled contrary to my expectations. We started off from Bangalore by 10PM.We travelled to Coorg by mini bus. We reached our destination in time. We started off our moon light trekking at around 4 AM. It was terrific experience-given my fear for snakes.

After morning breakfast, we climbed few mountains and walked through the forest daring the snakes and elephants. We had great team of individuals (of 12)-who are very co-operative and sensitive to other problems. I am not revealing more about place as we are under oath from the organizers (in fact I do not want to bore you with the details :) ...I think organizers are not listening). Organizers are pretty good bunch of people. If somebody wants to go refer this site: http://www.backpackers.org.

Key take aways from Trekking

1. I read somewhere - enjoy the journey not the destination. I told myself then that it is utter bull shit.only losers say this. This trekking changed my perception. Here only journey matters not the destination.
2. I became better team player after spending 2 days with individuals with great character.
3. I buckled to pressure of surmounting the mountains, and given up trekking many times on the journey, but realized at the end that with the right encouragement, there is nothing insurmountable.

I can only say Big thank you to all of you for being an object to learn something from. I love you all.

My Speech @ GPREC Alumni Meet

Apologies for not blogging for a quite some time. I decided to make this blog as informal as possible.2 weeks back I had attended the college reunion function organized by my college -G Pulla Reddy Engineering college,Kurnoll, in Bangalore. I came out of that meeting with mixed baggage of feelings. Normally this kind of meeting are of really great help for self assessing how far we travelled as individuals and also for the colleges to see and seek unbiased views from alumni. It indeed helped me to asses myself better. I do not know how it helped the college

Sooner I got email from the college I thought of delivering a speech on that day. I started off my preparation from that day on . I googled for greatest alumni speeches on the net, I found very few to my surprise. Once I happened to listen Mr Shashi Taroor speech at his alma matter- St Stephens(Delhi) on My favorite TV(NDTV). I was really very much inspired by that speech. I made mental not of that speech- whenever I get chance to speak I should exactly deliver mine in the same lines. It was really so emotional time for everybody to meet their friends and teachers. probably these are few occasions only when student(former) can be so informal with their teachers. You can speak your heart out with them. You can express all your love/hate to them.

The meeting was started almost on time after a customary group photo. It was a roller-coaster ride for some time with all the speeches from the guys who occupied the stage. One thing which is worth mentioning over here is that there was nice video they played for more than half an hour with all the college amenities . I was envious with amenities current students are enjoying. There was guy-chief guest- from IISc he delivered nice speech . Other than that everybody delivered the boring stuff. I was sitting at the front looking for a rare chance to speak- cursing these guests to complete their stuff. Some guy on that stage has hinted that lunch is ready ,soon after we can have lunch. I resigned to my fate and thought that only occasion to speak about my feelings for this college was sealed. Suddenly miracle happened Director picked up the microphone asked interested students to come up and speak. Poor guy was not aware that there was a guy whose words may trigger debate after a while .

I climbed on to the stage without hesitating for a minute - by showing my fat bum to the audience for a minute. it started off like this.

My Speech :

I am waiting for this moment for sometime (I said sarcastically ) (laughter allover). I am Mahesh , completed my engininerering from this college 1998-2002.I am an engineer not out of choice but compulsion as I am sick of this “circuit theory and blah blah”(laugheter all over). So I want to say few things not an engineer but as a person views things through social prism. At the outset I want to thank the management for coming all the way from Kurnool to Bengaluru. - guys I am using Bengaluru becaz I happened to see few Kannada Rakshane Vedike guys outside.(laughter all over). As you know we hear “recession” all the time. I want to take recession as backdrop for my speech. First part of discussion I’ call it as Inflation and second one as Deflation. Before I continue let me make it clear that “it is not so prudent to speak in English when two fine gentlemen Mr Prasad Rao and Rama rao ( English guys) in the audience. So I thought it is better if I give a disclaimer – bear with my poor English and very poor pronunciation (laughter allover)

Inflation : This pullareddy college it is not an institution like anything else. It is an institution that played a great role in changing the world around it. To understand the importance of this change, look where it is located – feudal land and see what impact it had on the area. Greta people like Mr Nilam sanjeeva reddy and all thought only way this feudalism can be ended is by promoting the education in a big way in this region. You know this college really changed the psyche of the people by creating envious environment in its surroundings. Small children really made to dream that “I should one day travel by this blue buses(college buses)” on the wide Kurnool roads(not so wide – there was laughter)-till that point of time only luxury Kurnool ppl had was autos. Knowingly or unknowingly this college had brought in lot of change among the people. This I think our founders have picked up few points from Mr reddy before establishing this college. It really change the world around it . At the same time was it oblivious to need for change within ?
Those who know me say that I am not known for mincing words-who calls spade a spade. why such a person is so praisy of the college?.you may be thinking. Given the recession I have stoke a deal with management to get a job out there if I am kind with management(laughter all over).

( Now I am in full control of the audience – I cracked few jokes, I brought them in my line- now its time for me to take them to different level)

And let me tell you few hard facts now as part of deflation.

Deflation :
After competing my PG I had to go to this college to pick up few certificates. I went to one clerk. I was made to wait. After awhile I pulled the chair and sat on that. That guy asked me to get off the chair as I sat on the same without his permission. This is how a student is treated. I came out of college saying it to myself that what this college needs it not the physical infrastructure but mental infrastructure that it gained over period of time that needs to be dismantled ( I was bit emotional –guys including the audience).Don’t read much into this incident. I do not have any hard feeling for that guys. My point is that this college is lacking “student is king” policy. When this college change it own philosophy to “Student is God” then only actual change happens.
There are enough avenues are there in the college.( I was very praisy of some teachers….) This college needs to actively promote those avenues and give holistic education to the students.
In the video that you have shown one thing was missing-that is canteen (laughter all over). I think still it is same shape. One of my senior –KuriaKose-a beautiful women-once questioned the college in one of her article “ can’t I have cup of coffee with my boy friend” in the college canteen(our college do not allow this). Let me rephrase this” can’t I have cup of coffee with my GF in college”. This should change. You are training the students for 21st century. You still can’t afford to have this kind of things.
In AP, political establishments have increased the college fees unmindful of the people economic status. So many students are in need of aid. Poor students can’t afford to have decent education. I am really feeling lucky that I was born in my time not now. If I have to educate myself now I should have never become an engineer given the exorbitant fees. And also we should help poor students in our college with some student welfare fund. You create an account and pass on the details to all the alumni.

Note : I could not textify my speech as is. It is very much closer to that

After this speech we had our lunch. Some teachers said I have spoken well. Some said it was the well worded speech they have ever heard. some were very apologetic about canteen issue. some enquired amount my village/town. some people gave weird look to me. That is the reason I said it was mixed feeling

After thought :   I said at the starting of the speech that my English knowledge and pronunciation of the same  is really poor. My Intention was to acknowledge the presence of them-English guys and tell world that I am so humble and also not invite the critism for my language. One beautiful Girl/woman who spoke after mine took the meaning of my words quite literally, instead of underlying intention, started speaking in borrowed American accent. Unfortunately she could not continue for long. It is good to see competition after a really long gap on the stage.

WHAT EXACTLY IS THIS NUCLEAR DEAL?

This is directly taken from sptulsian.com.I have never seen/read an arcticle on Indo-American Nuclear Deal in so simple words.

WHAT EXACTLY IS THIS NUCLEAR DEAL?
By Ruma Dubey

At the crux of this entire political conundrum, the core issue, which lays quite forlorn and forgotten is the nuclear issue. Today the politicians might have turned it into an opportunity to topple the UPA Govt but few remember that it all started with the nuclear deal.

Surely few of these politicians would have actually taken the effort to read the 82-page nuclear deal and tried to understand what it is all about. Somehow that does not come as a surprise at all! So without getting into the “political” angle of it, let us take a look at what exactly is this nuclear issue. What would India gain if UPA wins the vote and what we stand to lose if the deal gets cancelled?

What exactly is nuclear power?

Nuclear power is generated using Uranium, which is a metal mined in various parts of the world. It produces around 11% of the world's energy needs, and produces huge amounts of energy from small amounts of fuel, without the pollution that you'd get from burning fossil fuels.

Where does India currently stand on nuclear power?

In India, nuclear power is being produced under the Nuclear Power Corporation of India. Seventeen reactors are under operation and five reactors are under construction. These power projects are highly capital intensive and currently, takes care of 2.8% of the power needs of the country. Amongst the 30 countries in the world that use nuclear power, India’s rank at 27 is one of the lowest.

Why nuclear power?

To take India’s economic growth rate to greater heights, there is no doubt that power would be required as the main fuel for this growth. Though coal, thermal and hydro fuel would remain India’s dominant energy mix, it cannot continue to depend on coal alone. Global warming considerations and the immediate availability of clean coal technologies may constrain the coal route at least in the short term. Hydropower may also face constraints that arise from changes in the hydrological cycle triggered by long term climatic change. Hence having nuclear power in India’s energy portfolio is crucial for preserving India’s energy security

What does 123 agreement mean?

The 123 Agreement is the terms of engagement which operationalizes the treaty agreement between India and USA for transfer of civil nuclear technology. India’s right to test nuclear weapons, guarantees of lifetime fuel supply and India’s right to reprocess the spent fuel have all been covered in this agreement.

What is the Hyde Act?

The Henry J. Hyde United States-India Peaceful Atomic Energy Cooperation Act of 2006, it is known as the Hyde Act. It is the legal framework for this deal and provides the legal basis for the 123 Agreement with India.

What would the deal with USA mean for India?

The Govt has chalked out a roadmap wherein over the next 25 years, through the deal, it has set a target of generating 20,000 MWe (unit of nuclear power) as against the current 3,900 MWe.

The biggest advantage, which the UPA Govt is actually seeking is projecting to the world that it an ally of USA, which is a superpower in the world of today. The deal would provide India with access to American civilian nuclear technology. It would finally open up the door to US military technology, especially the fascinating US missile defense system.

Once the new reactors are set up, and they go critical without any time overrun, the nuclear power generation would take care of 8% of India’s total power requirement. More than 80% of the power generated in India comes from coal and thermal. And that will continue but just as oil has become critical today, coal will also one day reach such a stage. And unless we have backups ready, our entire country could get unplugged. Having nuclear power could help India, over the long run, offset the rising cost of coal.

Yes, price of uranium is also mounting. Between 2005 (when the India-US nuclear deal was first proposed) and 2007 (when the 123 Agreement was finalised), since then, the spot price of uranium has quadrupled. According to a June 2008 market assessment, a further 58 per cent increase is expected. But remember unlike oil, we are dealing with more mature economies here who will supply uranium and hopefully, they will prevent the present cartelization which we see in oil.

What is the cost of nuclear power?

At present, power from existing nuclear reactors costs, after huge subsidies, between Rs 2.70 and Rs 2.80 per kWh. The coal-fired Sasan mega power project in Madhya Pradesh will be supplying power at Rs 1.196 per unit. The real cost of power from existing nuclear reactors is around Rs 4 per unit; the cost of power produced by new reactors will be around Rs 5.50 per unit. But the economies of scale would soon start giving the advantages. Plus, these costs are today at the present levels of coal price, so when price of coal escalates further, cost would only go up.

What would the deal mean to Indian companies?

India has plans to set up 15 plants over the next 20 years. Business worth $100 billion is expected to be generated from this nuclear deal over the next 20 years. Apart from USA and France, which would benefit immensely, Indian companies too will get a part of this juicy pie. Over 400 Indian companies are expected to benefit, mainly for those involved in making equipment for nuclear power plants.

Why did the Left withdraw support?

The Left alleged that the deal would undermine the sovereignty of India's foreign policy. It has also stated that the Indian government was hiding certain clauses of the deal, which would harm India's indigenous nuclear program.
